How a Koreatown Implant Dentist Became #1 on Google for 'Implant Dentist' — and First in Its AI Overview for 'Korean Dentist in LA'
Search Google for "implant dentist" (임플란트 치과) from Koreatown and the #1 result is ID Dental Implant Center. Search "Korean dentist in LA" (한인치과 엘에이) and Google's AI Overview lists ID Dental first of three and cites the site. Both checked live on September 2, 2026. Behind them sits a plainer number: 784 clicks and 79,562 impressions in Google Search Console from June 1 to August 30, 2026 — website clicks from Google Search only, no ads. This post is the build behind those numbers, every figure dated and sourced.
The honest frame first. This is one practice, one summer of Search Console data, and rankings checked on one day from one part of the city. Clicks are not patients or revenue, and a #1 is a snapshot that can move next week. Nobody can guarantee a ranking or a place in an AI answer, and this post does not try to. What it shows is the structure that put a bilingual dental site in front of the searches its patients actually type — and that structure is repeatable.
The situation: high-value cases, searched in two languages
ID Dental Implant Center is an implant and cosmetic practice in Koreatown: All-on-4, full-mouth implants, veneers, Invisalign. Those are high-value cases, and the ones patients research hardest — implant and cosmetic patients compare several practices before they ever call. In Koreatown that research happens in Korean as often as in English: "LA implant dentist recommendations" (엘에이 임플란트 치과 추천), "Korean dentist" (한인치과).
Dental surgery needs deep trust before the first call, in whichever language the patient thinks in. And Google ranks pages, not practices: if no page answers a search in the language it was typed, the practice does not exist for that search. So the brief was not "a website with a Korean toggle" — it was a site that competes for implant cases in two languages at once, with equal polish in both.
What was built
The site is custom-coded from scratch — no template — with a clean, clinical-but-warm design. Five pieces do the work:
- A full Korean version — the whole site, both languages, written separately rather than machine-translated — so a patient who searches in Korean lands on a page written in Korean, one Google can index as a Korean page in its own right.
- Structured treatment pages for implants, veneers and Invisalign. Google matches a search to a page, and a patient typing "implant dentist" wants a page about implants — not a services list with implants as bullet point six.
- Structured data for a dental practice, plus local SEO aimed at Koreatown dental searches in both languages — the site tells Google, in Google's own format, what this practice does and where it is.
- Prominent booking calls to action, so a patient who has decided does not have to hunt for the phone number.
- Speed: 100 / 100 / 100 / 100 on Google's Lighthouse audit — desktop, July 11, 2026, median of three runs. Run iddentalimplant.com through PageSpeed Insights to check it yourself.
The results — every number with its window and source
Rankings were checked live on September 2, 2026 in a private browser window; the Search Console figures come from an API pull the same day. The site is re-checked on a monthly cycle, and the date is part of the claim.
- #1 on Google from Koreatown for "implant dentist" (임플란트 치과) — live check, September 2, 2026.
- #1 on Google from Koreatown for "Korean dentist" (한인치과) — live check, September 2, 2026.
- #1 for "LA implant dentist recommendations" (엘에이 임플란트 치과 추천) — live check from LA, September 2, 2026; Search Console average position 1.3 across June–August 2026 on 84 impressions. A small query, held at the top.
- Google's AI Overview for "Korean dentist in LA" (한인치과 엘에이) lists ID Dental first of three and cites the site — verified September 2, 2026.
- 784 clicks and 79,562 impressions — Google Search Console, June 1 to August 30, 2026. Website clicks from Google Search only; no ads.
Why the AI Overview cited it — as far as anyone can honestly say
Nobody outside Google knows exactly why an AI Overview picks one source over another, and I will not pretend otherwise (the general version is in how to show up in AI search). What I can point at are the parts of this build that give Google's ordinary crawler something clear to index and something specific to cite:
- The Korean question has a Korean answer. "Korean dentist in LA" (한인치과 엘에이) is a Korean search, and the site has Korean pages Google can index on their own — not an English page with a translation layer.
- Structured data for a dental practice states, in Google's own format, what the business is and where it operates.
- Dedicated treatment pages give Google something specific to cite — a page about implants, not a brochure.
- Speed and clean structure — the 100/100/100/100 audit — remove the usual technical reasons a crawler struggles with a page. That is correlation, stated as correlation.
What this means for other practices
Local Google works the same way for a dental practice as for a ramen shop: the fast, well-structured site with real pages for real searches usually wins. Three things follow. Build a page for each treatment you want more of, not a services list. If your patients search in a second language, answer with pages written in it — a machine-translated afterthought layered over English copy is not built to compete for a Korean search. And keep the numbers dated: a rank without a date is a story; a rank with one is evidence.
None of it is a launch-day event. A site is built once; being found is maintained — which is why every number on this page carries a date and gets re-checked monthly, and why I work as the partner who stays on to grow a site rather than the vendor who shipped it.
If you want to know how your practice's site actually answers the searches your patients type — in English, Korean, or both — I'll take a free look and tell you honestly what it would take, to launch and to keep being found on Google and in AI answers month after month. 12+ years of engineering, a custom-coded site, and a partner who stays on to grow it.
