What website maintenance should cost, and what it must include
A website needs looking after from the day it launches. Hosting has to be paid, security updates pile up, menus and prices change, and Google moves the goalposts every month. Because “maintenance” means something different at every shop, my plans list exactly what is included.
At minimum, four things belong in any plan: fast, secure hosting with SSL; monitoring that tells someone the moment the site goes down; backups you can actually restore; and security patches. A “maintenance plan” missing any of those is hosting resold under another name.
- Lite · $50/month
- Hosting and SSL, uptime monitoring, weekly backups, security patches, quarterly text and image edits. The minimum that keeps a site alive and safe.
- Care · $150/month
- Everything in Lite, plus one hour of content and design updates every month, a monthly SEO health check, daily backups, and an 8-hour response. The fit for a restaurant whose menu and prices change.
- Premium · $300/month
- Everything in Care, plus monthly SEO work aimed at rankings (not just monitoring), up to four hours of design and content work, a quarterly business review call, Core Web Vitals optimization, and a 4-hour priority response.
- Deep SEO · $500/month
- Everything in Premium, plus Google Business Profile optimization with monthly posts, local SEO across every neighborhood you serve, one or two new content pieces a month, review-generation guidance, and a monthly ranking and traffic report. For businesses where Google is how customers find you.
Which plan fits depends on what the site does for the business. If it is a business card, Lite. If the content changes often, Care. If rankings drive revenue, Premium or Deep SEO. Plans can change any month, and there is no contract.
When you compare quotes, check three things: whether backups are included, whether a response time is written down, and whether “SEO” means a monthly check or actual monthly work. The numbers on this page are the prices, and the quote comes within 48 hours.

How much does a custom website cost?
It depends on scope, but I'm priced significantly below agencies for the same work — because there's no middleman. No project managers, no account executives, no offshore handoffs adding markup. You work directly with the person designing and building your site, which dramatically cuts the cost. You'll get an exact, all-in quote before any work starts — no surprise invoices, no hourly billing creep.

It depends on the plan. Counting from when I have your deposit and your content (photos, text), a Starter 3-page site takes 5–7 business days, Basic about 1–2 weeks, and Plus projects with booking or e-commerce run 2–4 weeks. Once we agree on scope you get a clear timeline with milestones, and you'll see real progress every week.
What about updates after launch?
You don't have to learn anything. Updates are handled by me as part of an ongoing monthly service that also includes SEO, security patches, and performance monitoring. Need to change a menu, swap a photo, add a new service, post a promo? Just email me — it's done. No CMS to learn, no logins to manage, no risk of breaking the site.
Do you provide hosting, SEO, and ongoing care?
Yes — and most clients bundle them into a single monthly service plan. It covers fast/secure hosting, ongoing SEO and Google ranking work, content updates, security patches, performance monitoring, and small design tweaks as the business evolves. Your site stays current and keeps ranking — without you having to think about it. Cancel anytime; the site keeps running on its own.
Who owns the website and code after it's built?
You do. Once the project is paid in full, you own the design, the code, the domain, and the content. I hand over everything — repository access, hosting credentials, asset files. No lock-in, no proprietary system holding your site hostage. You can take it anywhere.
